21 Nov JLP Government Allocating $600 million of ‘bushing work’ prior to Local Government Election.
The People’s National Party is calling on well thinking Jamaicans to interpret and seek answers about the spending of some $600 million of tax payers money on bushing over the next few days prior to the holding of Local Government Elections, next Monday 28th November. This amount was confirmed by the President of the National Works Agency, Mr. E.G. Hunter who told PNP General Secretary Paul Burke in a telephone conversation this morning, that the decision was taken by the Cabinet.
Outside of the staggering amount for bushing when remedial road repairs are urgently needed in Eastern Jamaica, particularly Portland and St Thomas, the allocation of the work has circumvented the PNP Members of the Parliament, duly elected representatives of the people, and the municipal corporations / local authorities.
On Munroe Road and Old Hope Road, persons bushing can visibly be seen in their green party shirts. The PNP will also be bringing this serious matter to the attention of the Office of the Contractor General and the Political Ombudsman.
Notwithstanding this ‘buying’ of support, the People’s National Party will continue its work in engaging the Jamaican People to support the Party’s Local Government Platform and its candidates.
