NEITA SADDENED BY THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF POLICEMAN

ST CATHERINE,  JAMAICA, October 3, 2017:The People’s National Party’s Member of Parliament for North Central St Catherine, Natalie Neita expresses deepest condolences to the family and colleagues of Sergeant Mervin Ellington of the St Catherine North Police Division who died tragically when his motor vehicle plunged into a river caused by a breakaway along the main thoroughfare from Riversdale to Bog Walk in St Catherine.

She notes with regret the lack of attention to the state of the roadway, in particular the breakaways along the corridor. The Member of Parliament said she has brought the matter to the attention of the authorities because the breakaways are impacting commercial activities in the area, and presence a danger to the commuting public, especially children.

Ms Neita further stated that it is unfortunate that a life has been lost because of the prolonged existence of these breakaways, and that she is making another urgent plea to have these breakaways addressed with dispatch to prevent further tragedy.
