24 Nov PNP Expresses Gratitude for Local Government Debates
The People’s National Party (PNP) wishes to place on record our gratitude to the Jamaica Debates Commission for planning and executing two successful Local Government Debates. Local Government is very important to the PNP and we are pleased that it has received this level of national attention.
We wish to also thank the Creative Production and Training Centre [CPTC] for hosting both debates. Their hospitality and professionalism were impeccable.
Moderators Patrick Anderson and Janella Precius are to be highly commended for their fair and balanced approach in carrying out their duties. Likewise the six in house panelists, and those who came by way of social media, are to be highly commended for allowing both political parties to respond to those issues that are most important to our people.
Highest commendations to the 12 debaters who availed themselves to be part of this most important part of our democracy, especially the debaters from Team PNP:
Mayor Senator Dr. Angela Brown-Burke
Mayor Everton Fisher
Mayor Scean Barnswell
Cllr. Donovan Mitchell
Cllr. Venesha Phillips
Cllr. Eugene Kelly
These six did a fine job of helping Jamaicans to understand the roles and function of Local Government and the work that has been going on over the last four years.
Finally, every Jamaican, at home and in the diaspora, who took the time to watch these debates and comment on them, we say a big thank you. You gave us the opportunity to speak directly with you and remind you that it is the PNP that has always been with you and for you.
