01 Sep PNP PRESIDENT ASKS INTEGRITY COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE TREASURER’S REPORT
President of the People’s National Party, Cde Portia Simpson-Miller at a meeting of the Officer Corps of the Party held today, requested the Integrity Commission of the Party to commence an investigation into issues raised by the Treasurer in his report to the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of July 23rd and 24th, 2016. That report was not accepted by the NEC.
The Terms of Reference for the investigation will be completed by Monday, September 5, 2016. The Integrity Commission will be asked to provide a preliminary report to the Officer Corps of the Party by October 3, 2016.
The Integrity Commission was established in 2010 and is chaired by Bishop Wellesley Blair and includes Daisy Coke, Burchell Whiteman, Cedric McCulloch and Fred Hamaty. The Commission will be free to draft additional expertise as required to complete its investigation.
