PNP SAYS TIME TO ENFORCE CODE OF POLITICAL CONDUCT

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, October 7, 2017: The People’s National Party (PNP) has expressed its concerns on the defacing of the town of Annotto Bay, St Mary by persons promoting the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate, Dr. Norman Dunn.  The town of Annotto Bay has been defaced with green and white paint, expressing support for Dr. Norman Dunn.

The Party says this behavior bears a resemblance to child’s play and should not be countenanced in modern campaigning.

The PNP is therefore calling on Political Ombudsman, Mrs. Donna Parchment Brown to immediately enforce the code of conduct, particularly in South East St. Mary.  The Political Ombudsman should also insist that the graffiti now on display throughout the town of Annotto Bay be removed as their existence represents a source of intimidation and a throw-back to an old style era of politicking.

According to the PNP, there is no need to deface private or public property in the name of politics in the present campaign.
