30 Sep Leader of the Opposition Urges Citizens to Pay Close Attention to Hurricane Matthew
The Leader of the Opposition, the Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller, is urging citizens to pay close attention to the movement of Hurricane Matthew. Mrs. Simpson Miller says that the approaching Hurricane is both serious and dangerous and has the potential to destroy lives and property.
She is urging everyone to take the warnings seriously and to move to safer places if the need arises.
Mrs. Simpson Miller is also calling on citizens to assist in the clearing of drains in communities.
She further asks that special attention be given to the elderly, persons with disabilities and children in the communities. She is reminding citizens not to cross rivers, gullies or heavy flowing bodies of water during the period of the Hurricane.
