24 Nov Portia’s Super Canvassers Arrive in St. Ann South Eastern
The People’s National Party is reporting that intense political work with the people under the theme ‘With the People, For the People’ began this afternoon in the St Ann South Eastern constituency, on the instruction of PNP President, Portia Simpson-Miller.
The Party’s General Secretary, Paul Burke says that a team of thirty (30) PNP super canvassers comprising of mainly women were dispatched from the St. Andrew South Western constituency. Lorenzo Ellis, the PNP’s Constituency Secretary in the Party Leader’s St. Andrew SW Constituency, is leading the team.
The Party’s Secretariat says that Ellis will review the PNP canvass and organizational capacity in the constituency’s Claremont and Moneague Divisions. According to Burke, “super canvassers will motivate Party workers and delegates ahead of Mondays local government elections, while they are engaging residents and PNP supporters”.
Burke says that the PNP standard bearers are the incumbent councillors of Claremont and Moneague, Lambert Weir and Lloyd Garrick. He notes that both have welcomed the assistance of Mr. Ellis, who is one of the Party’s Senior Trainers, in their respective divisions.
